AMG GT R Will Debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed

The Festival of Speed takes place this year from June 23-26, and Mercedes has confirmed it will debut the car at the show.

The new car will be the halo model of the AMG GT Coupe line. Expectations are that the car will use a heavily tuned version of the 4.0L V8 TT. The Car is expected to go on sale in the USA at the end of summer, 2017. We expect the AMG GT R will be a 2018 Model.

Visually, changes should include a deeper front bumper with a lip, a revised exhaust system, rear spoiler, suspension and braking tweaks.

For some auto enthusiasts, nothing is better than taking a holiday with a gorgeous convertible and experiencing the sights, sounds, and flavors of the destination at hand. For these individuals, Mercedes now offers their  “Classic Car Travel” Program, which allows patrons to take a guided tour of Europe in a classic Pagoda or R107 convertible. The program, which is a collaboration between Daimler and Munich based Nostalgic, allows fans the opportunity to enjoy road travel with a classic Mercedes convertible, without the high cost of purchase and maintenance of such a vehicle. According to program founder Gert Pitcher, “We have carefully selected routes that are a little off the beaten track and that showcase some stunning scenery.” The tours costs around $2,260 person, with 10 SL models on the route. The tours have selected destinations, including restaurants, that showcase the beauty and culture of the Mediterranean. The tours are tailored for groups of up to 18 people. The tour group will swap cars along the way, so that all guests can get a chance to experience the engines and chassis of the different models. A truly stunning holiday!
